Riding 200 miles is something that intrigued me and started to haunt me after my 160 mile Georgetown ride. What’s 40 more miles, right? A lot. I’m not getting any younger so I knocked this goal out while I still can.
Scheduling wasn’t wise on my part as it was dangerously hot. Bike computer read 104℉ a couple of times.
The first century went pretty well and was enjoyable. The second century, not so much. Wasn’t pretty but I got it done.
Almost got burned by Google navigation again. When I reached the eastern side of my route I asked Google to navigate home. Google was going to take me along the Lake Marion dike which is not legally passable at the Santee dam. I caught the snafu outside Manning SC before I wasted many miles.
Glad I accomplished my goal. Will not attempt again. This was a once in a lifetime ride.
Ride on. ☮

This made me LOL. “Relive insane activities over 12 hours.” I’ll pass.
