Mepkin Abbey Century 💯
Always a pleasure to visit Mepkin Abbey. Moss covered oak trees, green grass and a river. What’s not to like?
Last night I was going to replace parts on Old Yeller that were damaged last week. Unfortunately one of the screws for the derailleur hanger was stripped. Not having a drill or spare screws the project came to a screeching halt. After this ride on my backup bike I stopped into The Bicycle Shoppe behind my apartment. Talked with the manager and he said he will try to fit my repair in this week. Fingers crossed I can pickup Old Yeller by Friday.
Took 5 days off the bike and made an effort to get adequate amounts of sleep each night after my fall Sunday. Saw a doctor Tuesday who deemed an xray unnecessary. Still have a limp when walking and I couldn’t kick a ball if my life depended on it but pedaling is fine. No pain while on the saddle. Getting on the saddle is another matter although I’m learning to lean my bike over to saddle up. Going to try to ride tomorrow. The weather forecast is calling for rain all day. Will resume commuting to work on Tuesday.
Good day on the saddle. Great temperatures but more wind than I care for. Ride on. ☮
